Privacy Policy
Last updated: February 2026
This Privacy Policy explains what information Groundworkers Home Services, Inc. (“Groundworkers,” “we,” “us”) collects, how we use it, and the choices you have. It applies to our website and contractor-matching services.
1. Information we collect
When you use Groundworkers to request contractor matches, we collect the information you choose to give us and a limited amount of technical data:
- Information you provide: your name, email address, phone number, project ZIP code, and details about the project you want done.
- Communications: messages you send us and records of calls or texts related to your request.
- Automatically collected data: device and browser type, IP address, and general usage information collected through cookies and similar technologies.
2. How we use your information
We use the information we collect to operate the matching service and improve it. Specifically, we use it to:
- Match your project with vetted local contractors in your area;
- Contact you about your request by phone, text, and email;
- Verify contractor licensing and quality, and prevent fraud and abuse;
- Analyze and improve our website and services.
We do not sell your personal information for money. Sharing your project details with the contractors we match you to is a core part of the service you request — see the next section.
3. How we share information
Groundworkers is a contractor-matching service, so sharing your project information with contractors is how the service works. We share information as follows:
- With matched contractors: when you submit a request, we share your name, contact details, and project information with a limited number of independent contractors so they can contact you with quotes.
- With service providers: vendors who help us run the platform (hosting, analytics, communications), bound by confidentiality obligations.
- For legal reasons: when required by law, or to protect the rights, safety, and property of Groundworkers, our users, or the public.
4. Text messaging (SMS)
If you opt in to text messages — for example by submitting a form with a phone number or by texting a keyword to our number — you consent to receive recurring automated messages from Groundworkers and, where applicable, from matched contractors. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. You can reply STOP at any time to opt out, or HELP for assistance. Consent to receive texts is not a condition of using Groundworkers or of any purchase. Mobile opt-in information is not shared with third parties for their own marketing purposes.
5. Your choices and rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, or delete the personal information we hold about you, and to opt out of certain sharing. You can:
- Opt out of marketing emails using the unsubscribe link in any message;
- Opt out of texts by replying STOP;
- Request access to or deletion of your information by contacting us;
- Use our “Do Not Sell or Share My Info” option where applicable.
6. Data security
We use administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security, but we work to protect your data and to limit access to those who need it.
7. Data retention
We keep your information for as long as needed to provide the service, comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. When it is no longer needed, we take steps to delete or de-identify it.
8. Children’s privacy
Groundworkers is intended for adults and is not directed to children under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us information, please contact us so we can remove it.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “last updated” date above, and significant changes may be communicated more directly. Your continued use of Groundworkers after an update means you accept the revised policy.
