Terms of Service
Last updated: February 2026
These Terms of Service govern your use of Groundworkers’s website and contractor-matching service. Please read them carefully — they explain what we do, what we don’t, and the rules that apply when you use the service.
1. Acceptance of these terms
By accessing or using the Groundworkers website and services, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use the service. These terms form a binding agreement between you and Groundworkers Home Services, Inc.
2. What Groundworkers does — and doesn’t
Groundworkers is a contractor-matching service. We connect homeowners with independent, third-party contractors based on the project details you provide. Importantly:
- Groundworkers is not a licensed contractor and does not perform, supervise, or guarantee any construction, repair, or improvement work;
- We do not employ the contractors we match you with;
- Any contract for work is strictly between you and the contractor you choose.
Always verify independently. While we perform baseline checks, you are responsible for confirming a contractor’s license, insurance, references, and suitability before hiring.
3. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old and the owner of, or an authorized decision-maker for, the property in question to submit a project request. You agree that the information you provide is accurate and that you have the authority to request work on the property.
4. Your responsibilities
- Provide accurate and complete information about yourself and your project;
- Communicate directly and in good faith with matched contractors;
- Independently evaluate, hire, contract with, and pay any contractor;
- Use the service only for lawful, legitimate home-project purposes.
5. Independent contractors
Contractors found through Groundworkers are independent businesses, not our agents or employees. We do not control their work, pricing, scheduling, or conduct, and we are not a party to any agreement you enter with them. Any disputes about the work itself are between you and the contractor.
6. Disclaimers
The service is provided “as is” and “as available.” To the fullest extent permitted by law, Groundworkers disclaims all warranties, express or implied, including regarding the quality, safety, legality, or outcome of any contractor’s work. We do not guarantee that you will be matched, or that any match will meet your expectations.
7. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Groundworkers will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or for any damages arising out of work performed (or not performed) by a contractor you found through the service. Our total liability for any claim relating to the service is limited to the amount you paid us, if any, which for homeowners is typically zero.
8. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold Groundworkers harmless from claims, damages, and expenses arising out of your use of the service, your project, or your dealings with any contractor, to the extent permitted by law.
9. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the state in which Groundworkers Home Services, Inc. is organized, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any disputes will be resolved in the courts located there, unless applicable law requires otherwise.
10. Contact
Questions about these terms can be sent through our contact page. We may update these terms from time to time; the “last updated” date above reflects the current version, and continued use means you accept any changes.
